Hi, I'm Bomi
I help food and lifestyle brands tell their stories through visuals that feel calm, intentional, and deeply human.
I'm a multidisciplinary designer, art director, and food & prop stylist based in Toronto—with roots in Korea, the US, and Argentina. I create brand identities, direct food and product photography for hospitality and lifestyle brands, and build digital experiences that convert. What sets me apart? I understand visual storytelling from multiple angles—through formal training in visual communication and fiber arts, hands-on experience in professional kitchens, and collaborations with creators whose content reaches millions.

From Korea to Toronto:
A Multicultural Creative Journey
My path hasn't been linear—and that's exactly what makes my work unique.
I started in Korea, studying visual communication, fiber arts, and ceramics in Seoul. This shaped how I see design—thoughtful, seasonal, and intentional.
Living in the US and Argentina taught me to bridge cultures through visuals. I create work that feels authentic to its roots while speaking to everyone.
I worked as Marketing & Art Director at a lifestyle brand, leading visual strategy and brand development. I also assisted with food styling at 101 Recipe, learning professional food presentation for editorial shoots.
I trained professionally as a chef and worked in kitchens as a Chef de Partie. This gave me something most designers don't have—I understand plating, food costing, and what makes a dish work on camera and on the plate.
Now in Toronto, I work with restaurants, food brands, and creative businesses. From brand strategy to food photography to social media—I handle the full creative process so you can focus on running your business.

What Sets My Work Apart
Designer Who Trained
as a Chef
I began my career in visual communication and art direction, then trained professionally in culinary arts and worked in restaurant kitchens. When I style your food, I understand knife cuts, plating techniques, and what holds up under studio lights. Your dishes look beautiful and make culinary sense.
Content That Reaches Millions
I've collaborated with high-profile food creators like doobydoobap, Korean actors, and editorial publications. I create strategic visual content designed to stop scrolls, generate saves, and drive measurable engagement—not just beautiful images.
Maker's Perspective
I hand-build ceramics, design textiles, and cook the food I style. This tactile understanding of materials, textures, and composition informs everything I create. Need custom props or serving pieces for your shoot? I can design and produce them.
Multicultural Visual Language
Having lived in Korea, the US, Argentina, and Canada—and working fluently in English and Korean—I create brands that feel culturally rooted yet universally welcoming.
Full Creative Process
From initial concept to final delivery, I manage every step: creative direction, storyboarding, photography, styling, editing, and asset delivery.

Creating Work That Matters
While most of my work centers on lifestyle and food brands, I'm increasingly drawn to projects where creativity contributes beyond commerce—work that fosters human connection, dignity, and positive social impact.
I'm especially interested in collaborating with:
• Restaurants and cafes that serve as community gathering spaces
• Brands championing sustainability, ethical sourcing, or local producers
• Social enterprises using food to support marginalized communities
• Projects that prioritize people and purpose alongside profit
If this resonates with you, let's create something meaningful together.
Beyond Work
You'll find me...
• Experimenting with multicultural-inspired recipes in my kitchen
• Exploring Toronto's food scene (always searching for the best food)
• Sharing recipes and food stories on @bommgachi
• Hunting for vintage textiles and ceramics at markets
• Throwing ceramics at the pottery studio
I believe the best creative work emerges from living a rich, curious life—and bringing those textures, tastes, and perspectives into every project.
